Sugar Plums, My Ass!

Well, I know it's officially the holiday season.  Because of Thanksgiving and all of its trappings?  The smell of pine and gingerbread?  Black Friday?  The surge of decorated houses in the neighborhood?  The chill in the air?  Um, no.  All good guesses, but I know it's time for the holidays for one reason alone... I've had my first school-oriented winter concert nightmare.  Yes, I awoke from my Thanksgiving vacation's full night of sleep with a head filled with anxiety over the details for our concert that is three weeks away and yet, I'm sooo not ready.  Yes, I tend to panic a few weeks out from a concert, fretting over all the details... and in the end it always works out, but this year, it truly did sneak up on me.  Too many obstacles this year to get the ball rolling in time.  *sigh*  No recourse but to come up with a plan of action.  And so it goes...

I hope you survived concert season. I did. I was driving for a choir tour around town for a few different dates. Yikes. I was completely not in charge and I was still stressed out! I have had you very much on my mind the last couple of days, friend. I recieved a custom made calendar from a company that I do some business with. Every month has a photo that somewhere in it contains my name. My name written in the snow. My name written on a city wall in spray paint. My name carved in a park bench. My name written in the sand by the ocean. It is really cleverly done. The entry for June looks very much like your profile photo here on xanga. Rather than Beaver and Broad though, which has never once failed to make me smile, it has my name. Not as interesting as a Broad Beaver, but amusing to me none the less. The only place I know for sure that has a street of any size with my unusual name on it is in Hope, Arkansas. This photo is very big city in appearance though.

It reminds me of you and I have been trying to find the time to come and tell you so.

So if you felt someone thinking kind thoughts about you...it was me. I am glad you are here.
